– Easy, my first record, is out now –
I’m so happy to let you know that Easy, my first record, is out now ! This EP has been in the making for many years – ever since I moved from India to France and stumbled upon a subway musician who completely changed my life. From that moment, all I could think about was making music. Over time, I decided to become a subway musician myself, following the footsteps of my mentor. The song “Easy” was written during that period… I think it was a gift from the universe – nudging me to follow the signs, go with the flow and have fun along the way. This message still holds true several years after… I have had the immense privilege of working with Valentin Montu, who arranged, recorded & produced all six tracks on this EP. Thank you for listening ; I hope you enjoy the music we’ve created for you.

I love singing, playing my guitar, being part of something special and being of service to people… Over the years, I’ve had the honor of sharing my music at several private events – weddings, birthdays, corporate events, NGO events, conferences, salons, inaugurations etc. – and I would be delighted to sing for you, whatever the occasion. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like more information.
Sumana is a singer-songwriter from India based in Paris. Through her youth spent in Yemen and India, she enjoyed singing and took an active interest in music. In 2009, she was offered two scholarships to pursue her higher education at HEC, thanks to which she moved to Paris. While she was destined for a career in the corporate sector, a chance encounter in a Parisian metro with singer-songwriter and subway musician, Vanupié, changed her life. She remembers being blown away by his musical performance and experiencing a strong desire to renew her bond with music.
This defining moment pushed her to continue practicing the guitar, writing songs, and exploring music with seriousness and passion.
In 2016, Sumana auditioned to become a subway musician in Paris. Upon her selection, she started performing regularly in the metro and continues to do so till today.
Gradually, she embraced the path of an independent artist by performing frequently and learning on the job. Her passion, conviction, courage, and success slowly allowed her to step away from her corporate job and to follow her artistic dreams.
In 2018, Sumana met the producer Valentin Montu (Calogero, Florent Pagny, Brune, Cyril Mokaiesh…), with whom she decided to self-finance her first EP, called “Easy” (release month: June 2022). The mini album was mastered by Chab (Daft Punk, Noir Désir, Salif Keita…).
With her guitar in hand, this Franco-Indian soul sings in English, French and Hindi, and takes her audience on an intimate journey inspired by the defining moments of her life – moving away from her home country to settle abroad, leaving a secure job to pursue her musical dream, paving her own path as an independent singer-songwriter… Her dreamy pop-folk vibe and her powerful yet soothing voice, resonate within her audience, who experience emotions of positivity and hope in her company.
