Between India and France, from the class rooms of HEC Paris to the corridors of the Paris metro, and from a career in insurance to a life in music, Sumana has navigated profound transitions that have continually reshaped her path. Driven by a desire for freedom and alignment, she chose to leave behind a conventional life to fully embrace her calling as an independent artist. Her voice has often been compared to the likes of Norah Jones and Katie Melua.
Accompanied by her guitar, this Franco-Indian artist sings in English, French, and Hindi, taking her audience on an intimate journey inspired by defining moments in her life — leaving her home country to settle on another continent, and stepping away from a secure career to pursue her musical dream. Following her debut EP Easy (2022), which received support from SACEM, she is now preparing her first full-length album, The Flight, set for release in May 2026.
In February 2026, Sumana had the great honor of being awarded the title of “Chevalière de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French Minister of Culture, a prestigious distinction recognising her significant contributions to the arts.
